Events are held throughout the year that provide opportunities for members of the hemophilia community to gather and discuss common issues in Northern, Central, and Southern Indiana locations. The groups invite speakers, and usually dinner and an informal evening comprise the group's meeting. The staff of Hemophilia of Indiana assists in organizing a group, securing a dinner sponsor, and providing leadership and communication tools until the group becomes established. If you would like to attend a social group meeting or start a new group in your area give the HII offices a call.  We believe in the importance of networking among members of the bleeding disorder community.  The sharing of common experiences, needs, and resources can help people affected by bleeding disorders to become more confident.  These get-togethers are structured many different ways, such as educational, informational, or as a less structured gathering where participants simply talk and network.

 The concept behind the “Men’s Night Out” program is not new. The idea is to provide an opportunity several times a year at various Indiana sites for men to meet and socialize.  It is up to those in attendance at each meeting to determine what direction the next event will take, be it meeting during the week, sponsoring a dinner/social gathering, educational session (i.e. speakers) or community activity (i.e. sporting event) or something beyond these.

While we feel a time when just the guys can get together and bond is crucial, we understand the importance of others in our lives and many of the Men's Group meetings are open to significant others and companions. Check each event on the calendar to determine participant preferences.
