Indiana Beach & Christmas Assistance

Family Focus at Indiana Beach and Christmas Assistance have been discontinued for 2008 -

As you may be aware, Hemophilia of Indiana offers numerous programs and services to those affected by bleeding disorders and their families across Indiana.  Funding for these activities is provided through the generous contributions of individual and corporate sponsors as well as through special events and grant writing.  This means depending upon the amount of funding received, HII staff and board members have to decide when to add or discontinue various programs.  As many of you know in 2006, HII with help from the IHTC and other supporters, instituted the HII Dental Insurance Program, which now provides dental insurance coverage to more than 340 community members.

Due to limited funding HII has decided to direct our funds to those programs that are more wide reaching within the community, such as the HII Dental Insurance Program, emergency financial assistance, medic alert identification and community education events, such as our annual meeting.  This meant that we had to eliminate some programs, such as the Family Focus event and limit others, such as our Christmas Assistance program.

For the past 7 years, Hemophilia of Indiana has provided holiday assistance to families in need, helping more than 25 families each year.  This year, rather than trying to provide this type of assistance ourselves we will be working to identify other agencies across the state who have been established for this purpose and will then connect those in need with these agencies.
